Who were the greatest “rock bands” that rocked the world?
The music industry has been evolving with time, so it the music scenario. Now there’s music for every personality. There’s a genre for everyone ranging from jazz to hip-hop to techno to pop. But today we talk about the greatest people in the field of rock.
We give you a list of the best rock bands that ever existed. The list came as one of my friends Sanchit Gupta was not happy with the article “Who were the best music artist? “ he being an ardent rock fan thinks that how much album some guy sold, does not tell at all how good their music is. And I agree to him. So with his consultation we made a list of the greatest people in rock scenario.
The list of the greatest rock bands goes like this –
1. Pink Floyd

Pink Floyd was an English rock band who achieved worldwide success with their progressive and psychedelic rock music. Pink Floyd has been famous for their innovative album arts, sonic experimentation & elaborated live shows.
They were a bunch of crazy guys who just cared nothing about else than their music, philosophical lyrics and the lovely emotions they would put into every song that they ever created. They create a unique personality for every piece with beautiful solos intertwined into the song’s soul.
The band originally consisted of university students Roger Waters, Nick Mason, Richard Wright, and Syd Barrett. Founded in 1965, they first became popular playing in London’s underground music scene in the late 1960s.
Pink Floyd is one of the most commercially successful and influential rock music groups of all time. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.
Their greatest songs include “Meddle,” “Dark Side of the Moon,” “Wish You Were Here,” and the band’s popular apex and conceptual death knell, “The Wall.”

The band was founded when James Hetfield responded to an advertisement that drummer Lars Ulrich had posted in a local newspaper. The current line-up features long-time lead guitarist Kirk Hammett (who joined the band in 1983) andbassist Robert Trujillo (a member since 2003) alongside Hetfield and Ulrich.
The band although went mainstream but they proved that they haven’t lost any of it with Death Magnetic. There music is still fresh and they still are rocking to the core.
Metallica has released nine studio albums, three live albums, five extended plays, 24 music videos, and 45 singles. The band has won nine Grammy Awards, and has had five consecutive albums debut at number one on the Billboard 200,making Metallica the first band to do so.
The band’s most famous songs include – Enter Sandman, Turn the page, Nothing Else Matters.

Lamb of God is an American heavy metal band from Richmond, Virginia. Formed in 1994, the group consists of vocalistRandy Blythe, guitarists Mark Morton and Willie Adler, bassist John Campbell, and drummer Chris Adler. The band is considered to be a member of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal.
The band’s vocalist randy blithe has the most powerful voice you could ever hear in your life. He is master of the art of mixing the clean vocals with growls and screams which is extremely difficult and simply awesome.
The band is one of the few we think which focuses on its music rather than those controversial craps. Lamb of God is famous for its metaphorical lyrics and the lead vocalist Michael.

Slayer is an American thrash metal band formed in Huntington Park, California, in 1981 by guitarists Jeff Hanneman andKerry King. Slayer is best known for their brutal music and the extreme solos which are always treat for the year.
Slayer’s musical traits involve fast tremolo picking, double bass drumming, and shouted vocals. The band’s lyrics and album art, which cover topics such as serial killers, Satanism, religion and warfare, have generated album bans, delays, lawsuits and strong criticism from religious groups and the public. But they never cared and keep on doing all they feel like.

Dimmu Borgir is a Norwegian black metal band from Oslo, Norway, formed in 1992. Dimmu borgir means “dark cities” or “dark castles/fortresses” in Icelandic, Faroese and Old Norse. The name is derived from a volcanic formation in Iceland, Dimmuborgir. The band has been through numerous line-up changes over the years; guitarist Silenoz and vocalist Shagrath are the only founding members remaining.
Dimmu Borgir is the most famous black metal band that ever existed. They are loved for their deep satanic lyrics and ever deeper solos.

Children of Bodom is a Finnish heavy metal band from Espoo. Formed in 1993, the group currently consists of Alexi Laiho (vocals, lead guitar), Roope Latvala (rhythm guitar), Janne Wirman (keyboards), Henkka Seppälä (bass), and Jaska Raatikainen (drums).
Children of Bodom create unique metal songs; they inscribe melody in metal songs. Something which had never been done by any other band.
The band has incorporated many different musical styles, leading critics and fans to label them as melodic death metal, black metal, thrash metal, and power metal.

Opeth is a Swedish heavy metal band from Stockholm, formed in 1990. singer, guitarist, and songwriter Mikael Åkerfeldt has remained Opeth’s driving force throughout several years. While their style is firmly rooted in Scandinavian death metal, Opeth has consistently incorporated progressive, folk, blues, classical and jazz influences into their usually lengthy compositions. Many songs include acoustic guitar passages and strong dynamic shifts, as well as both death growls and clean vocals. Opeth rarely made live appearances supporting their first four albums; but since conducting their first world tour after the 2001 release of Blackwater Park, they have led several major world tours.

Pantera was an American heavy metal band from Arlington, Texas. Formed by the Abbott brothers, Vinnie Paul (drums) and Dimebag Darrell (guitar) in 1981, bassist Rex Brown would join in late 1981 with vocalist Terry Glaze. Looking for a new and heavier sound, Pantera had Terry replaced in 1987 with Phil Anselmo as the new vocalist.
The band’s most amazing things include phil’s voice, dimebad (guitarist and black vocalist) and Vinnie a deadly talented combination.

Apocalyptica: The greatest rock bands (whatwhy.in)
Apocalyptica is a cello metal band from Helsinki, Finland, formed in 1993. The band is composed of classically trainedcellists Eicca Toppinen, Paavo Lötjönen, and Perttu Kivilaakso (all three of whom are graduates of the Sibelius Academyin Helsinki) and drummer Mikko Sirén. Originally a Metallica tribute band, their music borrows elements from many genres including classical music ,neo-classical metal , post-grunge , progressive metal, thrash metal, and symphonic metal.
Apocalyptica is home to pure talent and nothing else. Its’ like four guys playing heavy metal on 3 cello and 1 drum, totally brilliant.

Radiohead are an English alternative rock band from Abingdon, Oxfordshire, formed in 1985. The band consists of Thom Yorke (vocals, guitars, piano), Jonny Greenwood (guitars, keyboards, other instruments), Ed O’Brien (guitars, backing vocals), Colin Greenwood (bass, synthesizers) and Phil Selway (drums, percussion).
Radiohead is pretty amazing for sure, we love their lyrics but the music is pretty normal and soothing. It’s not like something that can make you rise up from your seat and make you sway along the tunes. This is the reason they are low on our list of the greatest rock people.

Arch Enemy is a Swedish melodic death metal band, originally a supergroup, from Halmstad, formed in 1996. Its members were in bands such as Carcass, Armageddon, Carnage, Mercyful Fate, Spiritual Beggars, and Eucharist to name a few. It was founded by Carcass guitarist Michael Amott along with Johan Liiva, who were both originally from the influential death metal band Carnage.
The band was originally fronted by Johan Liiva, who was replaced by Angela Gossow as lead vocalist in 2000; which is the best thing that could happen to the band ever.
